Marinara Sauce

Ingredients:
2 TBSP olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 tsp minced garlic
1 14oz can diced tomatoes*
1 14oz can tomato sauce*
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
1 whole bay leaf
1/2 tsp sugar
salt and pepper to taste

 Method:
  1. Over medium heat, sautée onion and garlic in olive oil for 3-5 minutes or until onions become translucent.
  2. Add tomatoes and tomato sauce, stir.
  3. Add herbs and bay leaves. Sprinkle in sugar, salt and pepper.
  4. Lower heat and simmer for 30minutes, uncovered. Stir occasionally.

*Original recipe calls for 1 28oz can crushed tomatoes, but we never have that, so we made adjustments
