Swedish Meatballs

Ingredients & Method:

  1. Soak 2/3 cup dry bread crumbs in 3/4 cup canned milk
  2. Combine:
    • 1/4 cup chopped onion
    • 3/4 lb. chopped lean ground beef
    • 1/4 lb. ground veal
    • 1/4 lb. ground pork
    • (you can use one kind of meat, but the blend is better)
    • 1 tsp. salt
    • 1/4 tsp. pepper
    • 1/8 tsp cloves
  3. Blend mixture with a light hand. Shape into small balls.
  4. Fry balls in butter or oil until brown, shaking pan to prevent sticking
  5. Add 1/4 cup boiling water and simmer over very low heat for 5 minutes.
